While you’re in TO.

We travel a lot.

We are often in unknown cities and if I know others in the world of opera, they have certain requirements that others don’t really think about, like how loud it is and if we can go there after a show.

This may be a little less personal than the emails I send to visiting artists in this incredible city -  but the heart is still in it!

Here are some of my favourite places in Toronto:

Late Night eats near the Four Seasons Centre
The Soho House – Simcoe and Adelaide
Drake one-fifty – 150 York Street
The Keg – ye olde faithful 165 York Street

 Martinis
the roof of the Hyatt – 18th Floor, 4 Avenue Road
The Soho House – Simcoe and Adelaide
Cocktail bar – 923 Dundas West
The Four Seasons Hotel – 60 Yorkville Avenue

 Lunch and Dinner
The Gabardine – 372 Bay Street at Richmond
Edulis – 169 Niagara at Wellington
Terroni – I prefer 57a Adelaide East or 720 Queen West
La Bettola – 106 Victoria Street
The Black Hoof -  923 Dundas West (sometimes late night eats are available)
Le Paradis – 166 Bedford Road
The Grove – 1214 Dundas Street West
LEE – 601 King West
Carens Wine Bar – 158 Cumberland

Breakfast and Lunch
Le Petit Dejeuner – 191 King Street East

Coffee and Donuts
Little Nickys – 375 Queen West

My preferred coffee spots
Fahrenheit
Red Rooster
Sam James Coffee Bar
Sense Appeal

Treats
Nadege Patisserie – 780 Queen West

The block where Nadege is situated at Trinity Bellwoods Park is my weakness and I absolutely suggest a visit to that neighbourhood while you’re in town.
Visit Spice Trader, Type Books, The Paper Place,  Art27 (the BEST for organic products), Chippys fish and chips and Oyster Boy.  It’s a great area!

Enjoy the City!  Visit the AGO and shop along Queen West.  Hear some live music at The Dakota Tavern and buy some vintage clothing along the Ossington strip.  There are SO many burger joints and many more restaurants that I haven’t listed.  I lean towards venues that are consistent, generally quiet and always delicious.  If you love something, share it here.

xo.
